I woke up this morning a little nervous about my first day of english camp. im teaching english camp for the next two weeks, this week ill have 20 6th graders, next week 20 5th graders. teaching during the normal school year we stick close to the textbook, but for camp i had to write my own curriculum and plan for 4 periods a day for five weeks. anyway because of the frosted windows in my apartment i didnt even know it was snowing till i walked out to catch the bus. we got record snowfall, somewhere around 10 inches. it was crazy, i waited for around an hour and a half for the bus, in that time i saw only 2 buses and they were completely packed (literally). when i finally got on the bus it took about a half hour to get to school, and its only 4 stops away. my coteachers normal busride is about 20 min, today it took her 4 hours. i would have walked, but i have to cross through a tunnel to get to school and theres no footpath. there are not many plows. after school the roads were still not plowed, and they were littered with abandoned cars and trucks. there must have been 20 or so on the hill going to the tunnel. i still had camp and it went well, 15 students made it in.
also i didnt take the photo, i nabed it of the net, but it shows the lack of snow removal equipment (most places people are sweeping the snow).
